General Questions

How long does it take to develop a website?

I hate to be vague, but it just depends on your specific project needs.  At a minimum, about 4 weeks, but larger projects could take as long as 12 weeks. I suggest requesting a free proposal so I can provide a more accurate timeline.

Do you also offer web design services?

Yep, I can design, develop, host, and manage your website.

Do you offer any other graphic design services?

Yes, logo design. Either myself or one of my collaborators can help you with your graphic design needs.  Request a Logo Proposal for more information.

Do you offer hosting?

Yes! When you sign-up for one of my monthly Lavender Care plans, hosting is FREE!  If you prefer to maintain the site yourself, I can still host it for small monthly fee. Contact me for more information.

Where can I purchase a domain name?

My preferred domain registrar is Namecheap because of their competitive pricing and amazing customer support.

Full disclosure: If you decide to purchase a domain with them through my website, I do make a small commission at no cost to you. However, you are welcome to choose any domain registrar you like.

Do you offer copywriting services?

As part of a web development project, yes, either myself or a copywriting pro I trust will assist you. Contact me for more information.

What is a CMS?

CMS stands for Content Management System.  Most bloggers and news outlets use these systems to efficiently manage their digital content. I do too! This site is built with WordPress (one of the most popular content management systems) and it is what I recommend to my clients.

I prefer to build my own website. What resources do you recommend?

That would depend on your needs.  Are you building a site from scratch? Do you just need a recommendation on a template to use? Are you learning to use WordPress?  To provide the best advice for your unique situation, send me a message for more information. I'm happy to help.

Will you also market my website?

If you choose to work with me, I can submit your site to Google’s search engine, but it will be up to you to promote it.

If you are interested in marketing services, I can recommend a professional, just contact me.

I can, however, help to improve your search engine ranking. See What is SEO?

What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.  It is a method of making sure your website is visible on the web.  This helps drive traffic to your site organically.  My Lavender Care Pro & Lavender Care Premium plans include this service.

I am new to WordPress. Do you offer training?

Yep! All of my clients receive access to my free and up-to-date WordPress video training library.  If you worked with me to create the website, I'll also provide a free 60-min one-on-one training to teach you how to use your new website.

Billing & Payments

How much do you charge?

It depends on the details of the project. For example, whether or not we are designing a site from scratch, how many pages, features, etc.

Most projects average about $2500-$5000. Larger projects could be as much as $10,000. I encourage my clients to request a free proposal so I can learn more about your project and provide an accurate estimate.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are only issued for services not rendered. For site care plans, you will be billed for at least 30 days.  If you are unsatisfied with the service, I would prefer to discuss how I can improve your experience before you make the final decision to cancel.

What is your cancellation policy for site care plans?

You may cancel your plan at anytime and it will become effective the next billing cycle. For example, if you sign-up on January 18th, cancel on January 31st, you'll continue to receive services until February 17th and there will be no further charges after that.

What's Next?

First, you'll complete my questionnaire. This is your opportunity to tell me why you need a website and what the website should achieve. The more information you provide, the better the solution I will be able to to recommend.

Here are some of the things you'll need to know before you begin:

What services or products do you offer?

What are the goals for your business?

Who are your competitors?

Who is your target audience?

What is your design style?

How do you measure success?

You don't need to know all of the answers right now. Fill in as much as you can so I can get a clear picture of your needs. I'll guide you through the rest.
